Sunday Stamps: Military

Good day, and welcome.  Today's Sunday Stamps theme is the military.  I have no stamps of soldiers, but I do have a battleship:

The battleship Missouri, commissioned June 11, 1944.  Affectionately name "Mighty Mo", as she was heavily armed and could attain high speeds for a vessel of her size.

She is known for the role she played in the end of the Pacific part of WWII.  On Sept. 2, 1945, military officers from each of the Allied powers and Imperial Japan met on the deck of the Missouri and signed documents confirming Japan's surrender and the end of the war.

I have a page on Facebook: keep up with my infrequent quilt and stamp posts at

Great angle for the image. I like that they have shown it with camouflage paint.
