Sunday Stamps; hats

Good Day, and welcome to my blog.  It's a cloudy and rainy day in the American Midwest.  No matter, it's time for Sunday Stamps.

The them this week is hats, helmets, or headgear.  I have a stamp from the US Postal Service.  I don't have it in hand, this image is from their website.

This stamp is honoring author Ernest J. Gaines. (1933 - 2019).  He wrote The Autobiography of Miss Jane Pittman, A Gathering of Old Men, and A Lesson Before Dying.  And he is wearing a beret, in this painting form a photograph.

Sunday Stamps: Art

Hello, and welcome to my blog.  It's a cool day in the American Midwest, and it is raining lightly.  It's time for Sunday Stamps.

The theme this week is fine art.  The US Postal Service normally has at least one set of artworks on stamps.  Available on the website now is a set of stamps of artworks by Roy Lichtenstein (1923 - 1997) iconic artist of the pop art movement.   I don't have these in hand.  These images are from the USPS.

Here is one, and here is the set:

Sunday Stamps: Fish

Hello and welcome to my blog.  It's a hazy morning in the American Midwest, and promises to heat up quite a bit.

It's Sunday, and time for Sunday Stamps.  The prompt this week is fish.  I have some USA stamps from some time ago:

How do I know?  Because their face value is 22 Cents for a first class letter.  And when I first showed these on my blog in 2012 or so, postage was higher than 22 cents!

A variety of fresh and salt water fish are shown.

Other fish are featured at SeeitonaPostcard.
