Sunday Stamps December 20

Welcome again to my blog. I'm sorry I've been so neglectful.
It's Christmas time and that means time for sharing Christmas stamps at Sunday Stamps, at See it on a Postcard blog.  My contribution is below.

This image is from the US Postal Service website.  They generally have a Madonna and Child stamp every year (this one from 2013).  Following a theme, it seems, the Christ Child is hardly a newborn here.  And He has a funny face - even a little creepy, maybe?  Note Mary is resting her head on her hand - she is probably very tired!

My contribution to this week's Sunday Stamps.

A lot of 'Madonna and child' paintings DO seem to have a creepy baby Jesus. This guy looks a bit like Rand Paul - same hairstyle!

I agree with Finn that baby Jesus often looks creepy in Madonna paintings. But I like that this Mary looks realistically tired!

Too much artistic licence in nearly all paintings of baby Jesus.

Tired Mary is very realistic...
