Postcard Friendship Friday - Easter edition

It's Easter weekend and time to join Beth at the Best Hearts are Crunchy for Postcard Friendship Friday.

I have postcard with a historical tie-in for next week - come back and you will see the date is important.

For this week, I did not have a antique, or vintage, or even recent Easter postcard. So, I went to a local antique store with a number of booths and found this card. I'm following the theme of many posters of hens, chicks, and eggs.

It's been fascinating to visit the range of postcards from naturalistic - like yours - to highly stylized.
It would be interesting to a book using Easter postcards to demonstrate the changing culture/values associated with Easter.

Another beautiful card. I do agree with Evelyn Yvonne, this is interesting stuff for a book. In Dutch, the greeting is Vrolijk Pasen (A Gay Easter). Happy PFF.

I agree with Evelyn, it would be interesting to view a book with postcard changing in culture and values. Maybe I'll start one. View my post Here.

Those are some pretty chicks, I say that because lately I've come across a few blogs with Easter Postcards and some of those chicks look frightening!!!

Today's postcards are very different than those of yesteryear. This postcard is just lovely. I agree--a book would be wonderful!

Happy PFF!

Makes me want to make deviled eggs for dinner on Saturday! How else will I be able to stay away from the chocolate ones! And don't tell me to eat pink peeps. :)

I agree with Beth =) And I love the Easter postcards of yesteryears like yours. To me they are more evocative of the occasion.

I am going to agree with just about everyone here - there should be a book, and I prefer the 'yesteryear' artwork to most of the cards sent out nowadays. Happy PFF!
