Sunday stamps: Northern Hemisphere

Good Day, and welcome to my stamp blog.  It is a nice sunny day in the American Midwest, blue skies and fluffy white clouds.

It's time for Sunday Stamps.  We are going to take a trip around the world, starting with the northern hemisphere.  I have few stamps from France, host of the Olympics, starting soon.  But I do have this, shared once before:

Stamps from Spain, showing national parks and flora and fauna.

Visit SeeitonaPostcard for more entries.

I have a page on Facebook: keep up with my infrequent quilt and stamp posts at https://www.facebook.com/pages/Viridian61/347674418583948?ref=hl

Sunday Stamps # 179

It is a beautiful Saturday evening in the American Midwest, and already Sunday in some parts of the world.  Therefore, it must be time for Sunday Stamps.

Our theme this week is beautiful landscapes, which are not hard to find on stamps, if you look around a bit.
My first stamp is this one:

A flat, evergreen-covered landscape could be very boring but it looks quite attractive in this Finland stamp of a National Park.  And, then just last week, I received these stamps from  Spain, via a Postcrosser:

Stamps again showing National Parks, and some of the flora (crocus?) and fauna (wolf) of these areas.  There is great detail in these Spanish stamps!

Please join me this week if you can, with some landscape stamps, as always, interpreted broadly.

Theme next week; Artists and illustrators.
Theme week after that: open, anything you wish.

Sunday Stamps #99

Hello, Sunday Stampers!

Holy Cow, we are almost there!  Almost to week 100.  I cannot believe I have been doing this so long, and with only a hiccup or two.

Anyway, this week's theme:   stamps with a message. For example, in the USA what we would call a PSA or Public Service Announcement, such as "Stop Smoking", etc. What are they called in your country?

There has been a series in the USA of "Go Green" stamps.  However, what made me think of this theme is the stamp below.

I believe this stamp is saying not to make a game out of your life? Not to take a chance with your life? Can you correct me?  It's definitely asking people to obey the speed limit.  I like the design of the speedometer morphing into a gaming wheel.

Next week:  It's week #100!  Hurrah!  Let's share some totally awesome, amazing stamps or stamp sets, mini-sheets, anything you wish.  I've got to go through my collection and find something special!
For week 101, we'll do Christmas/holiday stamps.
