Good day, and welcome to a cloudy day in the American Midwest. It's about 33 degrees F.
It's Sunday, and time for Sunday Stamps. I have a great stamp today for the theme of authors, poets, composers. It's a new stamp, to be issued on Jan. 30 this year. This image is from the USPS.
Allen Toussaint is associated with the rhythm and blues scene in New Orleans. He was a singer, songwriter, composer, arranger and producer. His Wikipedia page is HERE.Visit SeeitonaPostcard for more entries.
I have a page on Facebook: keep up with my infrequent quilt and stamp posts at https://www.facebook.com/pages/Viridian61/347674418583948?ref=hl

Great stamp for today!
He was a "great backroom figure" I have heard of, though I don't know much about him. This is a nice image of him with a halo.
He was a prolific songwriter, didn't know he was caught up in Hurricane Katrina, nightmare. Thanks for pointing out my link error, I should have double checked my typing before posting!
I'd not heard of him before. I read his bio, he was quite a man. And to think he was "found" just by chance, sitting on for someone. So many never get that lucky break.
A good portrait
