Sunday Stamps: Western Hemisphere

Good day and welcome to my blog.

I was at a professional conference last week, and could not blog.  But I am back again, on a warm day in the American Midwest.

The theme this week is stamps from the Western Hemisphere.  North and South - that is set by the equator.  East and West - that is set by the prime meridian of longitude, and that was set by Great Britain back in the day.

Anyhow.  I have a stamp from a postcard sent by traveling friends, and it continues the Caribbean theme:

A nice harbor scene from the Cayman Islands.  Probably hot there today!  And I believe they were affected by the last big hurricane.

Sunday Stamps: eastern hemisphere

Good day and welcome.  I am on vacation with family but making time for Sunday Stamps.

The theme is stamps from countries in the Eastern hemisphere.  In looking back at former blog entries, I found some stamps from a Postcrossing postcard from the People's Republic of China, perfect for today:

2 Chinese stamps issued for the London Olympics.  I can tell from the "tectonics plates" logo on the left hand stamp, and the strange one eyed creature on the right hand stamp.  And it's postmarked 2014.

Sunday stamps: Northern Hemisphere

Good Day, and welcome to my stamp blog.  It is a nice sunny day in the American Midwest, blue skies and fluffy white clouds.

It's time for Sunday Stamps.  We are going to take a trip around the world, starting with the northern hemisphere.  I have few stamps from France, host of the Olympics, starting soon.  But I do have this, shared once before:

Stamps from Spain, showing national parks and flora and fauna.
