In the tour of the alphabet, Sunday stamps is up to the letter J.  I have an image from the US Postal Service:

Janis Joplin lived from 1943 to 1970, dying of a drug overdose in October of 1970.  She electrified audiences wherever she performed.
More detail here:  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Janis_Joplin
When I was younger I did not appreciate her singing but I do now.

Please visit Sunday Stamps and see who else has joined in this week.

A beautiful stamp design!
I know some songs by Janis Joplin, and I know she didn't get that old, but until now I never knew she died this young..

Yes, she was sadly part of the infamous 27 club.
Like you, I didn't appreciate her music at the time, but do now.

I knew her name but not her music. What a waste of a life.

I love this stamp, too. Interesting that we chose different stamps from the Music Icons series.

I was about choosing this stamp for this week. I received it last year, and I think it is a great design.

I still have her vinyl Pearl album, bought way back in the day. I like the choice of image her laugh was unique.
