Sunday Stamps: Engraved (or looking like it)

Good day, and welcome to my stamp and postcard blog.

It's a gray day in the American Midwest, but should clear up a bit later.

It's time for Sunday Stamps.  The theme is engraved stamps.  I have some I have shared before, but the actual stamps are buried in a stamp album, deep in a closet.  They look engraved, but I can't check.

A set of stamps ... on stamp collecting!  Newer stamps are printed a different way, and don't have such detail.  They are from some years ago, given the postage rate printed on them.

Sunday Stamps: Creepy-crawlies

Good morning and welcome to my blog.  It is a cool sunny late Spring day in the American Midwest, and it's time for Sunday Stamps.

The theme today is creepy-crawlies.  This could be insects, or other invertebrates.  Yes insects are on stamps, though not often.

First:

A butterfly from the USPS.  This stamp is for square envelopes.  Most people find this insect beautiful.

And then there's an older stamp:

A dung beetle, from a set of stamps featuring insects released in 1999.  Eww.  Well, the entomologists were happy with that set of stamps.
