Sunday Stamps: Public buildings

 ... A palace in fact.

Hello and welcome to my blog.  It is a cool and sunny day in the American Midwest.  It's time for Sunday Stamps, and the theme is public buildings.

The US Postal Service has no current stamps that fit the theme, so I looked at my old blog entries, and found these stamps from Russia, issued in 2013:

These stamps came from a Postcrosser in St. Petersburg, on a postcard sent to me in 2014.  The bottom stamp, I am pretty sure, is of the Winter Palace.

Sunday Stamps: Birds

 Good day, and welcome to my blog.  It's a great sunny day in the American Midwest.  It's warmer than usual for this time of year, warm in the sun and cool in the shade.

It's time for Sunday Stamps, and the theme is birds.

Having none in hand, I searched out stamp resellers on the internet and found this pretty one:

A Forever stamp with a chickadee, a favorite of many.  It is named after its call, a quick high "chick a dee dee dee."   These birds stay in the north over winter and will happily come to your bird feeder.

Sunday Stamps: Jewelry

 Good day, and welcome to my blog.  It is a cool sunny morning in the American Midwest, and it's time for Sunday Stamps.

Our theme today is Jewelry, and there is a stamp available on the USPS website:

Released in 2011, it is to make up postage, before the USPS switched to Forever stamps.  This is an image of a Navajo silver and turquoise necklace, and they are stunning in person.  I don't have one, I have only seen them in stores and galleries!
