Sunday Stamps: Color

Good Day, and welcome to my blog.  It is a lovely morning, sunny and clear, in the American Midwest, and it's time for Sunday Stamps.

The theme is color, and our hostess has shown a range of Machin stamps from the UK, all of different denominations, and different background colors.  The USA generally does not issue stamps with the same image in different colors.  There are a few examples however.

These stamps were issued circa 2019 - 2020 I think, in time for Valentine's Day.  I have shared them before.

Sunday stamps: Patterns

Good day, and welcome to my stamp blog.  It is a cool and cloudy day in the American Midwest.

It's time for Sunday Stamps.  The theme this week is patterns.  I have a geometrical stamp from the US Postal Service:

This stamp is worth $5 US so it is not a stamp you see everyday.  There are stamps with similar designs for $1, $2, and $10.

Sunday Stamps: Olympics

Good Day, and welcome to a cooler and sunny day in the American Midwest.  It's time for Sunday Stamps.

I have a current stamp from the US postal service:

Women's rowing, though I haven't seen coverage of this sport this year (but I haven't been watching closely).
According to the USPS webpage, the USA women's team has won the gold medal in the past.

Sunday Stamps: Sport

Good Day, and welcome to my blog.  It's a warm humid day in the American Midwest.

It's time for Sunday Stamps.

I have a stamp currently on sale on the USPS website:

Celebrating women's soccer, as it is known in the USA, or Football in the rest of the world.
In 1972 in the USA Title IX passed, banning discrimination on the basis of sex in education, and women's sports in schools improved.
In 1996, women's soccer (football) became a summer Olympic sport for the first time.  The USA beat China for a gold medal at those games.
