Good Day and welcome to my blog. It is a cooler, cloudy day in the American Midwest.
It's time for Sunday Stamps, and the theme is persons of interest.
I am sharing a very new stamp issued by the US Postal Service, It is of John Lewis, tireless advocate for civil rights.
He was a speaker in 1963 at the March on Washington (anniversary yesterday). March 7, 1965: while trying to cross the Edmund Pettus Bridge during the March from Selma to Montgomery Alabama, he and about 600 other protestors for civil rights were set upon by police and beaten. It has become known as "Bloody Sunday". He later served in the US Congress for many years.
More information is available on the US Postal Service website.

I have a page on Facebook: keep up with my infrequent quilt and stamp posts at https://www.facebook.com/pages/Viridian61/347674418583948?ref=hl
