Postcard Friendship Friday: St. Pete, FL

It's turned cold again in the Midwest, so it's back down to Florida.

A lovely linen card of Spa Beach and Vinoy Park Hotel, St. Petersburg, Florida.  Those adults in the middle of the card better get out of their Northern duds and into their bathing suits!

Unused.  On the back, the card reads that it was published by "Rutland's Dept. Store, St. Petersburg's Best Dept. Store."  Rutland's is not in business anymore.  However, the Vinoy Park is going strong.  Built in 1923, renovated in 1992, "today the Vinoy is still the only luxury resort on Florida’s west coast."

I'm joining Beth for Postcard Friendship Friday.

Viridian! Thanks for posting a comment on my blog. You'd have to go searching over the past two years of posts to find the ones that match the Thank Yous, but if you'd like a piece of mail art I'll make it worth your effort!

Another pretty summery postcard. I'm looking out my window and there is about 8 inches of snow on the ground from our little snowstorm. Summer will come, though! Happy PFF.

I have a weakness for coastal cards: I love the little groupings of beach-goers on this one. Glad to see you are dreaming of summer through postcards.

Strange to see the two standing there fully clothed while all around are in swimwear.

Thank you so much for this charming card! Someone was asking who it was who was having the stamp meme--I couldn't remember--now I can pass on the info!

Thank you for taking part in PFF! Have a perfectly wonderful weekend.

I'd like to be heading down to Florida too. It's a beautiful scene.

I've watched the Vinoy go from an abused and empty shell to the beautiful hotel that it is today. Wonderful old postcard!

We received just under a foot of snow on Wednesday, so your postcard is perfect. Thanks.

Good luck in my contest. Thanks for entering. I am having fun with this, so will definitely be having more contests.

Look how blue alternates with sandy-yellow horizontal strips in your nice postcard, including the top and bottom margins! :)

I can't wait until we could go to the beach again.
Joining PFF for the first time and I'm late! :)

What a fun postcard.

I was in Tampa years ago (and we drove though St. Petersburg), and wish I had known about this place. I would have gone to look at it.
