Sunday Stamps: The Year of the Tiger

Good day, and welcome to my entry for Sunday Stamps.  It is a cold yet sunny day in the American Midwest.

SeeitonaPostcard reports that Canada Post is not issuing a Lunar New Year stamp this year (maybe for good?) which is sad to hear.  But the US Postal Service has issued a stamp this year:

A stylized image of a mask, with plenty of orange!  This is a Forever stamp, worth the current US first class rate.  I'll have to look for these at the Post Office.

Sunday Stamps: Maps on stamps

Good day and welcome.  Yet another gray day in the American Midwest, this time with some snow flurries added in.

It's time for Sunday Stamps.  This week the theme is maps or flags on stamps.  I have a stamp from Belarus, that I first shared about 10 years ago:

The grand emperor penguins and a map of Antarctica.  Interesting to see the globe turned "upside down" for this!

Sunday Stamps: Authors

Good day and welcome to another gray day in the American Midwest.  It's time for Sunday Stamps.

Like others who are participating, I am sharing a relatively recent stamp from the USPS of Ursula Le Guin.

The background image is of a scene from The Left Hand of Darkness.  A wonderful fantasy and science fiction writer.  Her Earthsea trilogy featured a school for wizards - hmmmm.

Also a newish stamp:

August Wilson, a playwright, who is described here by the USPS.  Two of his plays are Fences and The Piano Lesson.

Sunday Stamps: Blue stamps

Good day and welcome to my blog.  It's a gloomy rainy day in the American Midwest.  And it's back to work tomorrow.  Well I can still relax today.

It's time for Sunday Stamps.  The theme is blue stamps today.  I have a scan that I have shared before:

From China, an islet in blue blue water.  This came on a Postcrossing postcard, back when I was active in Postcrossing.

Sunday Stamps: New Issues

Good day, and Happy New Year!

Our theme today is new issues.  The stamp I am featuring below is so new, it isn't even available until Jan. 9 2022!  A stamp from the US Postal Service to make up postage:

Blueberries, looking very delicious.  They remind me of late August days, not the cold cloudy day we are having today in the American Midwest.
