Sunday Stamps: Dark. Ukraine

It is Sunday Feb. 27 2022, and the Russian invasion of Ukraine has been going on for a few days.  The theme for Sunday Stamps this week is "dark", and these are dark days indeed.  We are all thinking of Ukraine.

So I decided to share a stamp I have shared before:

Sent to me by a postcrosser who included the surrounding edges, so that you can see the Ukrainian flag moving in the wind.  Thinking of the people of Ukraine.

Sunday Stamps: "N"

A cold and sunny day in the American Midwest.

SeeitonaPostcard says there really aren't enough pink stamps.  Hmm, I may have a pink stamp for today.  And it follows the theme of the letter "N", our theme for this week.

Two stamps from the Netherlands, that I have shared previously, some years ago:

Sorry for the big cancel!  Stamps from when I was in Postcrossing.  My correspondent noted these were caps worn by elderly ladies or women in the "bible belt" of the Netherlands.

Sunday Stamps: USA Love stamps

Good day and welcome to my contribution to Sunday Stamps. It is cold here in the American Mid-west, and it is trying to snow.

It is Feb. 13, so thoughts turn to Valentine's Day.  Every year since 1973 the US Postal Service issues Love stamps for Valentine's day.  This year, they were were inspired by old European folk art, says the web page.  Here is an image from the USPS:

And the pane of 16 stamps together, in two colors:

Sunday Stamps: Winter Sports

Good day, on a cold, sunny, snowy day in the American Midwest.  No it is not snowing now, but we have a bit of snow on the ground.  We are dug out and all is well.

It's time for Sunday Stamps.

I have not much here, so I used the google machine to find images of winter sports stamps on ebay.  Yes winter sports usually means the Olympics.  Here is a nice set of 4:

From 2002, when US postage was 34 cents for a first class letter.  Interesting graphics, and I don't recall seeing these back then!
