Sunday Stamps: Free choice

Good day, and welcome to my blog.  It is a cool cloudy day in the American Midwest.  We'll put up our Christmas tree later this afternoon.

It's time for Sunday Stamps.  The theme is your choice.

I have a stamp issued this fall by the US Postal Service:

This is a stamp of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg, 107th justice of the US Supreme Court.  She was a long time fighter against gender discrimination.  She was a voice for equal justice under the law during her time on the Supreme Court.

Sunday Stamps: Planes

Hello and welcome to my blog.  It's a cool (39 deg. F) sunny day in the American Midwest, and time for Sunday Stamps.

The theme this week is Planes, Trains, and Automobiles.

I have an older stamp, I think given to me by a friend who knew I was collecting stamps at that time.

I have shared this before for Sunday Stamps.  An air mail stamp from the USSR so you know it's from a few years ago!  The sea plane is from 1932.  The stamp appears to be from 1978.

All set here for American Thanksgiving - picking up the fresh turkey (not frozen) on Wednesday.

Sunday Stamps: Ships or boats

Good Day, and welcome to a cool but sunny morning in the American Midwest.

It's time for Sunday Stamps.  Our theme this week is ships or boats.  I have one stamp I have shared before, and one that is newer, from the US Postal Service.

(This image from the USPS). This I have shared before:  the USS Missouri, also known as Might Mo.  It moved fast for a ship of its size.  It is well known too, for being the site of Japan signing the documents of surrender at the end of World War II.

Here are more recent US stamps, of sailboats:

Again, this image is from the USPS.  These are stamps for postcards, now at 51 cents American.  Postage really has gone up!

Sunday Stamps: Moustaches

Good day, and welcome to Sunday Stamps.  We have just gone through the Daylight Savings Time "fall back" so I am a bit unsettled.  It is a cool sunny morning with frost on the ground, and time for Sunday Stamps.

The theme is Moustaches.

An older stamp, from my Postcrossing days.  This is Benjamin Rabier, perhaps best known today for his illustration of the Laughing Cow, for a certain brand of cheese.  He illustrated a number of other animal tales too.
