Sunday Stamps: THe Letter "D"

Hello and welcome to a rainy day in the American Midwest.

It's time for Sunday stamps.

I don't have these in hand, but am taking the scan from the US Postal Service.  They have issued a set of 4 stamps showing military working dogs.  Here is one stamp:

And here is the set of 4:

A stylized design, not photographs.  The website notes that the Labs are trained as search dogs - I am not sure of the others.  Probably guard dogs.

Sunday Stamps: Photography

Good day and welcome to my blog.  It is a clear, sunny day but frigid - 16 degrees F.

It's time for Sunday Stamps.

The theme this week is photography.  I went through the US Postal Service website, and thought, yes, this one may fit the theme:

The James Webb telescope has been sending back to earth some amazing photographs.  See some of the first images here.  More images are being obtained, and scientists are excited.

Sunday Stamps: End of War

Good Sunday!  It snowed yesterday in my area of the Midwest and it is mostly sticking.

It's time for Sunday Stamps.  The theme this week is end of war, battles, military, or Remembrance Day.  Veteran's Day (as it is called in the USA) was November 11.

I have a stamp I have shared before.  It commemorates the end of not the First World War but the Second World War.

The battleship Missouri.  She was in Tokyo harbor in September 1945 and the treaty ending the war with Japan was signed on her deck.
