PFF: let's go to Florida

According to the Weather Service,  there is snow on the ground in every state except Florida.  Let's pack those bags and GO!

On the back: "The Coral Flamingo is one of nature's greatest combinations of grace and beauty, and at the Rare Bird Farm, just south of Miami, Florida, they may be seen and photographed at their best.  These birds have become so tame that one can get within a few feet of them.  Here, amid natural surroundings, one would think they were somewhere on Great Abaco or Andros Islands, in the Bahamas, their native habitat."
Not mailed, but with a handwritten message in pencil: " I saw 450 of these birds on parade Saturday it was a sight. Some of them re black underneath or a [illegible] white.  Most of them dark pink."

Thank you Beth for hosting Postcard Friendship Friday!

Remember: My new meme Sunday Stamps opens again late Saturday night.  See the post below for our great time last week.

I looked up Florida last night when I posted my Florida card. It's still kind of cool for Florida, but definitely better than here.

I've only ever seen flamingos in wildlife programmes. Pretty birds and definitely worth a postcard of their own.

Another Florida card! All this wishful thinking. :)

I saw flamingos in the Camargue in the south of France . they are a wonderful sight. The ones I saw had black edges to their wings. It's not terribly warm there either, at the moment.

Happy PFF ,I'm with you Florida sounds great ! I'll go pack a bag and tag along for some warmer weather :)
It is most unusual to have a cold ,wet, snowy kind of winter in my neck of the woods but nature surprised us this year .
Thank you for this beautiful postcard today .
I feel so much better now.
Take care and have a blessed rest of the weekend .
Until next time
Happy Trails

Flamingos...good to be in Florid-i-a! In Africa, sometimes a daring baboon might catch one before take-off. Can an alligator do that? Why not? Sure.
Flamingo should be always alert. :)

Love the flamingo! I heard the same thing about the snow. I was guessing the one state was Hawaii, but I was surprised to hear it was florida. Were they just talking about the contiguous 48 I wonder?

Happy PFF!

Hello Viridian, and a happy new year!
Thank you for visiting my blog earlier and, of course, I will be delighted to join your Sunday Stamps meme =)
I've seen a flamingo for the first time in my life in Kuala Lumpur's Bird Park; it is right in the centre of the city and an amazing place to visit.
Have a great weekend and see you on Sunday Stamps!

what a gorgeous linen card. i've only seen flamingoes looking rather sad and straggly in a zoo in england as a child - this looks like a fine example in warmer climes! happy PFF!

Loved the card. Flamingos are fun to watch and to see them in sunny/warmish Florida would be perfect. Happy PFF!

Great post! Florida should have taken advantage of the opportunity and had some tourism commercials running.
