Once again this week I am on the move, this time for a family vacation to visit my parents and have some fun. Therefore I am putting this post together early and scheduling it to be published on Saturday afternoon.
And so it must be time for Sunday Stamps. It is June and I hope beautiful weather where you are.
Our theme this week, by suggestion, is circuses, clowns, or fun fairs, interpreted broadly.
I don't know how common these kinds of stamps are, so be inventive! I picked this theme because it was a suggestion, and the US Post Office just released a sheet of 8 different designs.
Here are 4 of those designs.
The stamps designs are based on posters from the early 20th century. From the stamp sheet: 'Joyful posters beckoned the masses toward the grand show, thus proving P.T. Barnum right: "The noblest art is that of making others happy." ' I know P. T. Barnum from another saying attributed to him: "There's a sucker born every minute."
While I appreciate the graphic designs, I admit I don't like circuses and definitely don't like clowns.
Join in this week if you can, and prep for next week, when:
the theme will be anything you wish. theme week after that; I'll get back to you!

hope you dont mind I went with the same stamps as well :) but i thought it would be a pity not to use such a lovely cover :) Personally I love the designs!
I bought the sheet of Vintage Circus Posters stamps this week, embedded the USPS video, and found some postcards in my collection to include in my post.
what lovely designs!
I will post the circus stamps I found tomorrow - gotta watch a soccer match (on tv) now :)
Very attractive - and they'd make nice postcards too!
Poster design is a fascinating subject and I always enjoy seeing them on stamps, I saw there was a bit of a controversy on the issue of this set. Always a good thing if it gets stamps into the news.
I like the subtle colours, so different to my set! I’m with you though, I don’t like circuses.

I'd really like to receive one of these!
Thanks for choosing this theme.
Make 'em Laugh!
I think that I have only ever been to one circus and I was very young then. Of course Ringling/Barnum & Bailey are world famous, These are history stamps.
I think we share a similar opinion about clowns (there's only one I liked as a child, called Pipo, but he was on television and experienced exciting adventures).
But the stamps are beautiful!
Enjoy your vacation!
