Sepia Saturday has such a great photo for a prompt this week! Here is my contribution:
A cabinet card picked up in SW Ohio. I do not know who these children are, but they are pleased as punch to be on a pony in a city street. I do tend to pick of sepia photos of children.
In the shop window on the left you can see ads for Morning Glory hams and - my favorite- Shinola. Shinola is a brand of wax shoe polish. Its name was immortalized in the phrase "You don't know s--- from Shinola" - rather unfortunate for the shoe wax company.
Happy Sepia Saturday! If you like this blog, stop by on Sunday for Sunday Stamps. We share interesting stamps, following a theme - or sometimes not. The theme this week is art on stamps.

What kid wouldn't be pleased to be on a pony! Fun photo.
Have you noticed - the figure of the girl fits exactly over the back legs of the horse to give the impression of a very tall lady? Hehehe! Love it!
That's a cute photo. I've heard of Shinola, but not that phrase (which I find quite amusing).
Let's hope the pony didn't provide anything to compare with the shoe polish.
I've heard the saying, but didn't know what Shinola was.
Kids look happy- cute photo for this week's "theme".
Great photo, love the pony's colouring.
Not just a great image but a great piece of photographic investigation as well. I will take a look at Sunday Stamps.
They do look pleased, but I had to go back for another look after reading Jinksy's comment and I saw a little girl with horse's legs! :-) Jo
That's a new phrase for my collection. Now when will I be able to use it.
The pony looks resigned to poing for the photograph.
Lovely picture and what an advertising slogan!
I knew about the saying but not Shinola. They should have made the best out of it and turned it into an advertising campaign! Had they done so, I doubt anyone would have forgotten Shinola either.
Oh this is great! I just enjoy that photo so much, I have several like that where my grandmother had her own little pony and then later there are photos of my father and aunt on horses too...great memories!
I tend to pick up sepia photos of children, too. Something about those big hair bows girls wore back then just enchants. So that's what Shinola is! Pretty funny.
A great photo, whose birthday do you think? I almost got hooked on a similar genre: kids in goat carts. But then I discovered that there are thousands! An enterprising photographer would get an animal and cart to use as the cute hook for the parents.
