Sunday Stamps: Women

Good day, and welcome to my blog.  It is a beautiful sunny day in May, and it's mother's day in the USA.

It's time for Sunday Stamps.  The theme this week is women.

Two recent stamps have been issued by the US Postal Service, or are about to be issued.

First, a recent stamp:

Betty White, actress, TV personality.  I know her from the shows The Mary Tyler Moore Show, and Golden Girls.

And a stamp to be issued June 10:

Barbara Bush, wife to President George H.W. Bush, and mother of President George H. Bush.

It's good to see women honored by stamps!

Sunday Stamps: Furniture

Welcome to a cool rainy day in the American Midwest.  It's Sunday morning, and time for Sunday Stamps.

The theme today is furniture.

A stamp issued in 2008 celebrating the work of Charles and Ray Eames, a husband and wife design partnership.

According to Wikipedia:
Charles Ormond Eames, Jr. /ˈmz/ (1907–1978) and Bernice Alexandra "Ray" Kaiser Eames (1912–1988) were an American design married couple who made significant historical contributions to the development of modern architecture and furniture. Among their most well-known designs is the Eames Lounge Chair. They also worked in the fields of industrial and graphic designfine art, and film. Ray Kaiser Eames and Charles Eames worked together as creative partners.

It may be art, but it looks uncomfortable to me.
