Postcard Friendship Friday: Winter Scene
An old postcard sent in Vermont. Addressed to Miss Alice Baird, Pittsford, Vt, postmarked May 17, 1913.
From the back:
"Well alice I will send your Glasses to day we are all well I hope these few lines will find you well I just saw your g yesterday but it was to late to send them From Lois B."
Lois B does not believe in wasting time or ink on punctuation!
I love this image of a wintry sunset because this image captures the last glow of the sun as it slips below the horizon. I can feel my nose getting cold, and I have a feeling it's time to go home. After this light is the intense blue of twilight that I swear is best in New England. The thin black branches of trees outlined against deep blue sky and blue tinged snow. It's not the same here in the Midwest.
Thank you to our hostess Beth at The Best Hearts are Crunchy for hosting Postcard Friendship Friday. Click on the link to see who else is playing!

Or abbreviation! That's Glasses with a G!
Violets and a winter scene--seems like an odd combination.
Beautiful, suble colours in this card! Delightful!
Love that time of day in the winter when the trees are like a silhouette against a red sky. Not that way in the summertime. Wonder if I spelled silhouette correctly? LOL. Carol
Lovely wintery scene. Nothing like stream of conciousness for getting all your thought out in a rush:-)
lovely winter scene. I really enjoy the calligraphy on these old cards.
The beautiful snowy sunset, old fashioned violet posey and wonderful red and green birthday greeting ... what a perfect card!
Oh, are you from N.E. You willl enjoy my Maine postcards!! Yours is full of detail and color. Thanks for sharing through PFF.
Blessings this Christmas week, Lisa
beautiful card...when I lived in the foothill of the Apennines in Italy, I would often see violets in the snow if there had been a late fall that year...
Beautiful sunset!
Nice image, but...I would never write like that, even if I'm in a rush - maybe because I paid attention when I learned English. :)
A friend (Ph.D. in English) said she could never be a Grammar Nazi.
I said: "I could!" :) :)
Very nice layout. I like the blue tone at the top with the gold border.
