Happy PFF: Plymouth Rock

We are all linking in at Beth's blog, The Best Hearts are Crunchy.

An older postcard (around 1900?) showing people viewing Plymouth Rock, Plymouth, MA, under its ornate temple, as befits an American icon. This is the old structure. A newer, bigger one was built in 1920 (according to Wikipedia).

I have visited here myself - it is fenced off so you can't climb all over it, or chip off a piece (as they used to do!). It is still a major tourist attraction, and I am sure there are modern postcards of the rock.

I've visited there twice myself. In history books Plymouth Rock is pictured as this big rock--in reality it isn't much bigger than a love seat. I was totally surprised. (grin)

Yes, I will be permanently hosting PFF. Marie is losing her eyesight due to a condition she was born with. She asked me to take over for her permanetly. I am so privileged and honored that she would have asked me.

She's learning braile--what a brave wonderful woman she is! I intend to keep in touch with her. she is just lovely.

I have never been to visit Plymouth Rock, but I always imagined it to be quite large, not the size of a love seat.

I have a jumbo size postcard I got of the rock when I was a child. It just shows the rock up close.

I had heard of Plymouth Rock but imagined something quite different, more a rocky outcrop in the sea. How wrong can you be!

popping over from PFF :o) About 42 years ago (yikes!!!) I went to see Plymouth Rock with my dad, mom, and grandparents. I was itty bitty, but for some reason, I can remember looking down at the rock through the rails.

Blessings & Aloha!
