A card from Great Britain, recently received through Postcrossing. A reproduction of a painting by Edward Potthast, I think in the collection of the Art Institute of Chicago. I am not familiar with this artist, but this painting is surely in the Impressionist style. The painting really captures the light and color of a sandy beach, don't you think? A summery card for June!
And - a stamp of Lady Jane Grey too!

That reminds me of my early vacations.
It's just gorgeous and so relaxing too somehow! I can almost hear the laughter and smell the salt air...I can't WAIT for vacation in a couple of weeks! Happy PFF!
Beautiful painting. Gives a great impression of sun, sea and a sentimental journey. Now this old tune got in my head: "to the sea, to the beautiful sea, you and me, you and me, oh, how happy we could be". Greetings from Amsterdam.
Oh my gosh, I adore your card, it is so gorgeous.

A lovely card indeed...
I have yet to see the Lady Jane Grey postage stamp.
Have a beautiful weekend.
That is so beautiful! Happy childhood days. :)

What a beautiful card! Happy PFF!
I've seen a copy of this painting, or one very much like it, in a children's hospital wing.

It's a lovely postcard. But what stopped me in my tracks is the Astronomy Picture of the Day: Seaside Moon Mirage. How spectacular is that?!
I love the little flowing shirts/skirts that the kids are wearing.
says comment published, but I'm not convinced... I love this postcard - It evokes everything I love best about the beach. Thank you for sharing and happy Forth of July weekend!
I've never heard of Edward Potthast, but this painting reminds me of Monet or Degas. Looking at it, you really can feel the sun and smell the salty air. What a marvelous postcard!
