Sunday Stamps: Christmas in July

Good day, and welcome to my blog.  It is a warm muggy morning in the American Midwest, and it's time for Sunday stamps.

Each year, the US Postal Service issues a religious Christmas stamp, usually an image of the Madonna and Child.  They also issue a secular stamp or set of stamps.  The Christmas stamps for 2025 have not been issued yet, nor have they shown up on the USPS website.  So I am sharing a stamp issued last year in the fall of 2024:

Sunday Stamps: Blue

Good Day, and welcome to my blog.  It is a warm cloudy morning in the American Midwest.

It's time for Sunday Stamps, and the theme is blue.

Here is a new stamp, to be issued by the US Postal Service on Aug. 14 of this year:

It will be issued then for the 2026 World Stamp Show in Boston.  I believe that is Paul Revere, riding along.  Note the older style of this stamp.

These two scans are from the USPS website.

Very pretty I think and it fits the theme for today.

Sunday Stamps: stories or folk tales

Good day, and welcome to my stamps blog.

The theme today for Sunday Stamps is stories or folk tales.  I have a stamp I shared a long time ago, from Russia:

At the time, in 2012, I did not know anything about this stamp.  Now I know this is part of a set of stamps issued by Russia, and shows Ailyp and Golden Hair.  She is not Rapunzel, and the story is quite different!

Sunday Stamps: Summer

Good day, and welcome to my blog.  It is a warm humid morning in the American Midwest, and it's time for Sunday Stamps.

The theme this week is Summer.  I have a stamp I have shared before, one of a set of 4 celebrating the state or county fairs of the USA:

This scan is from the US Postal Service.  A Ferris Wheel is shown in the background.

My children, when little, used to love going to the local fairs.
