Theme for Sunday Stamps

In my struggles with blogger and Linky tools I never anounced what the theme for the next Sunday Stamps would be. Let's keep it easy and say anything you wish. Looking forward to some interesting stamps on Sunday.

Sunday Stamps #55

Chinese New Year began on Monday January 23, so let's celebrate with Chinese stamps, Dragon stamps, or red stamps.

The top stamp looks similar to some bridge stamps shared by someone previously (Bob I think?)

This festival is also know as the Spring festival in China, and lasts for 15 days.  The coming year is the Year of the Dragon in the traditional Chinese calendar.  Red is a lucky color in the Chinese tradition.  So let's have a blog hop party.  Please join in and link up your stamps, then visit some other blogs.  Thank you!

Another note:  You'll see I have registered my blog with Networked blogs, so please follow me there if that is how you like to keep up on your blogs.  I also have a Facebook page now, as Viridian61, and you can follow me there at http://www.facebook.com/pages/Viridian61/347674418583948#!/pages/Viridian61/347674418583948?sk=wall
Or just search on Viridian61!

My background seems to be missing and I will try to fix it.
Linky tools has expired for now and so I will have to add your link manually.  Please leave your linky address in the comments and I will add it by hand.  I guess it is one of those days here.

I've created a Facebook page for Viridian61

And I will put a button on my sidebar as soon as I can figure out how.  Oh, I know how to insert the code.  But Facebook doesn't recognize this web address or the address of my other blog about quilting.

This blog will still be my main platform for postcard and stamp related items, but I am trying to use all "social media."  If you do use Facebook, search for Viridian61 and you will find me.  Here is the direct link:
http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Viridian61/347674418583948?sk=wall.  Mostly quilting content at the moment, stuff from my other blog, viridian61.blogspot.com.

Sunday Stamps #54

Today's theme: Standard Issues. A look at the everyday stamps of our countries.

This is one of the most common stamps that was used in the USA - millions must have been printed and put on penny postcards.  This particular specimen came from a card sent in 1913 to Mrs. Amanda Floyd in Indiana from her sister Daisy.

Note the fine engraving on the stamp, and the wreath around Washington.
Enjoy the standard stamps from around the world!

Theme next week: In honor of the Chinese New Year, let's share Chinese stamps, Dragon stamps (it's the year of the Dragon), or red stamps (red is a lucky color).

Sunday Stamps #53

Theme for this week: Food. The raw materials (fruits, vegetables, grains etc.) or the finished products. What were you able to find?

I have: some stamps from Kenya, with the coconut, and groundnuts, which are also known as peanuts.

These stamps came from a student, who sent a postcard to our department when she was in Kenya on a safari.  Someday I may go on safari too!
Please share your stamps and visit some other blogs and enjoy Sunday Stamps.

Theme next week:  Standard Issues.  Let's look at the  everyday stamps of our country and find something new to say about them.

Sunday Stamps # 52

Today's theme is anything you wish.
Here is some historical architecture from Denmark.
It's a warm snowless winter in America, which has me worried.  We need snow!

Theme for next week: Food.  the raw materials (fruits, vegetables, grains etc.) or the finished products.  Let's see what you can find!  Interpret this broadly.

Here's hoping for a very good 2012 for you and yours.  For this first week my year has been a repeat of 2011, but it could get better.

I am linking up with Beth at the Best Hearts are Crunchy for PFF.
